The factory rear knuckles on the Maverick R are known for a critical weakness — the stock radial joints can pull out of the bore or snap ring groove under load. ZRP has developed a proven solution, offering two upgrade options to address this issue.
Option 1:
Upgrade to our Chromoly OEM-Style Radial Joint with a custom-machined threaded nut that securely holds the joint in place within the knuckle. This is the most cost-effective solution, as it uses our Chromoly radial joint, without the need for additional parts such as spacers. This eliminates the failure-prone stock radial joints and circlips for maximum durability and performance.
Option 2:
Upgrade to a premium setup featuring a WSSX12T Heat-Treated Alloy Steel, Teflon-Lined, Wide Series Spherical Plain Bearing (F1 Fit), paired with precision-machined 17-4 stainless misalignment spacers and a custom threaded nut. This eliminates the failure-prone stock radial joints and circlips for maximum durability and performance.
